Frequently asked questions
What counts as an indexed message?
Every message, email, transcript segment, or document paragraph that DecisionTrace ingests and processes counts as one indexed message. Edits to existing messages do not count again.
What happens if I exceed my message allowance?
On the Professional tier, overages are billed at $0.08 per 1,000 messages beyond your monthly allowance. You will receive a notification before any overage charges apply. Enterprise plans have no message limits.
Can I upgrade or downgrade at any time?
Yes. Plan changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. If you upgrade mid-cycle, the new rate applies immediately and is prorated.
How does permissions-aware ingestion work?
DecisionTrace mirrors access rules from your source systems. If a user does not have access to a Slack channel or Jira project, those decisions will not appear in their search results. No configuration is needed beyond the initial OAuth connection.
